Dr. Chandra is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. She is a native of Fiji Islands who moved to Southern California at the age of 8. She earned her Bachelors of Science from the University of California, Irvine where she graduated with honors. She then attended UCLA School of Dentistry and graduated with a doctorate in dental surgery. She remained at UCLA for an additional six years to complete her surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. During this time she also obtained her medical degree and completed a surgical internship in General Surgery, both at UCLA.
As a resident, Dr. Chandra had the privilege to participate in several craniofacial surgical trips to Mexico (Thousand Smiles Foundation) and Vietnam (Open Heart Team) to perform cleft lip & palate surgeries. She continues to volunteer her time on both a local and global level to these countries and more recently to her native home of Fiji Islands with the Loloma Foundation.
Dr. Chandra is tremendously enthusiastic about her specialty. She enjoys practicing full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with special interests in obstructive sleep apnea, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma and head and neck pathology. She also enjoys traditional office based procedures including dental implants, exodontia and bone augmentation procedures for oral rehabilitation.
During her free time, you can find Dr. Chandra cycling on her road bike or running with her husband. She is also a huge fan of music and supports our local music scene here in southern California, frequently going to shows. She also plays the guitar and enjoys science fiction movies.
